UPDATE: Boone County no longer under tornado watch

A tornado watch issued Tuesday afternoon for Boone County is no longer in effect.

The watch, issued by the National Weather Service, covered most of the southeastern half of Missouri. Boone County was on the western edge of the watch area.

The forecast for Tuesday afternoon called for showers and thunderstorms, some of which could be severe, with hail, damaging winds and heavy rain.
