COLUMBIA — Missouri diver Loren Figueroa earned Southeastern Conference Female Diver of the Week honors Tuesday. Figueroa has earned the award a league-leading three times this season.
The junior from Oklahoma City swept the 1- and 3-meter diving titles during Missouri’s dual win over Drury on Friday, posting her second-highest score (338.25) of the season on her way to winning the 3-meter event.
With her eighth victory in as many tries, Figueroa remains perfect on the year in the 1-meter. After battling an injury during her sophomore season, Figueroa has returned to the form that she displayed her freshman year when she claimed All-American honors after finishing second in the 1-meter at the NCAA Championships.
This is Figueroa’s seventh weekly award of her collegiate career. She was also named the Big 12 Diver of the Year for the 2010-11 season.
The Missouri swimming and diving team will take to the pool Friday and Saturday for the all-day Tiger Invite.
