COLUMBIA—Two Columbia girl's high school basketball players were nominated Tuesday for the 2013 McDonald's All American Games. Rock Bridge forward Hannah Dressler and Hickman point guard Jade Holly were two out of 347 nominated women's prep seniors across the country.
The 6-foot Dressler is averaging 7.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game for the 15-4 Bruins. She is the sister of Columbia College standout Jordan Dressler, and the daughter of former Missouri basketball player Mark Dressler.
Holly's ball handling from the point guard position has helped steer Hickman to a 16-3 record. She was named to the All-Tournament Team of the Smith-Cotton Tournament in Sedalia earlier this month.
If selected from the large group of nominees, Dressler and Holly would join the likes of Candace Parker, Tamika Catchings, and Maya Moore as McDonald's All American alumni. Nominations are restricted to seniors.
The McDonalds All American Games will be played on April 3 in Chicago.
