Missouri House panel demands answers about new state plane

JEFFERSON CITY — The head of the Missouri State Highway Patrol defended his agency's purchase of a $5.6 million plane, telling upset lawmakers Wednesday that the new aircraft was needed because of high demand for flying time from state officials.
