PARKVILLE — Behind a record-breaking performance from Tierney Seifert, the Columbia College women's basketball team defeated American Midwest Conference opponent Park University 99-70 on Saturday.

Columbia, ranked No. 18 in this week’s National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Top 25 poll, improved to 18-5 overall and 11-0 in league play with the win, its 14th straight dating back to Dec. 18.

Seifert led four Cougar players in double figures with a career-high 28 points and a school-record eight three-pointers, breaking the previous record of seven held by Ashley Fisher and B.J. Homer. Lily Abreu added 19 for Columbia to go along with 12 and 10 points from Julie Teeple and Brooke Godsey, respectively.

The Cougars return to the court Thursday, when they travel to take on Benedictine University of Springfield, Ill. Columbia defeated the Bulldogs 99-40 in the two teams’ first meeting of the season on Jan. 10.
