COLUMBIA — The Columbia Police Department is searching for two men in connection with a shooting early Sunday morning.

Garrett Murray and Jeremy A. Ruff should be considered armed and dangerous, a Columbia police news release said.

A 22-year-old woman was seriously injured early Sunday morning after two men in vehicles exchanged gunfire near 900 Business Loop 70 E. She was taken by ambulance to University Hospital and is in stable condition.

The woman did not appear to be the target of the shooting, the release said.

According to an initial Columbia police news release, officers arrived at the scene around 1:51 a.m. Sunday in response to shots fired and a possible victim.

The vehicles involved were described to police as a white SUV and a gray passenger vehicle. Officers found ammunition casings in the street nearby.

The news releases did not say how the two suspects were identifed. The Police Department has issued warrants for them for unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action for both men and has set a total bond amount for each man at $300,000.

The Criminal Investigation Division is still investigating the incident, the release said.
