Columbia College runners place at Central Missouri relays

Eight Columbia College runners competed in six events at the Central Missouri Mule Relays last weekend.

Cody Gorham and Devin Sander gave the Cougars their highest finishes of the meet by finishing third and fourth in the 1600-meter run. Gorham finished with a time of 4:25.25. Sander ran the event in 4:26.67. Michael McCulloch finished 11th with a time of 4:40.86.

The trio also finished second in the distance medley relay with a time of 10:55.13. Jordan Andrews ran the 3,000-meter run in 9:54.15 and finished No. 34.

For the women's team, Lindsey Martin placed fourth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:39. Julia Collins finished 14th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:30.24, and Emily Shultz finished No. 30 with a time of 2:32. Collins and Shultz also placed eight and ninth, respectively, in the 1,600-meter run with times of 5:33.11 and 5:36.76.

Julie Montgomery ran unattached Saturday in the women's USA Cross Country Championships in St. Louis. Montgomery ran the 6-kilometer event in 24:44 and placed No. 44.
