Samuel Bennett Jones, Jan. 3, 1957 - Feb. 4, 2013, of Columbia

Samuel Bennett Jones passed away February 4, 2013, at his home in Columbia, Missouri.  

Sam was born January 3, 1957, in Brookfield, Missouri, to George and Kathleen Jones. He spent his youth in Linneus, Missouri, graduating from Linn County R-1 High School in 1975.  He married Susan (Knifong) Jones on December 23, 1978.  To this union two children were born, a daughter, Hillary Claunch (and Jeremy), of Columbia and a son, Ryland, of the home.

Sam earned a B.S. in Business from Columbia College.  He was employed for several years by University of Missouri Physicians and Boone Hospital Center in the business and financial departments.  He achieved a life-long dream of opening a high performance audio and video store, Pure Audio, with business partner, Travis Huff, in 2007.

Sam is survived by his wife, children and parents. He is also survived by his brothers, Thomas, of Blue Springs, Edward (and Jerry) of Casper, Wyoming, a sister, Diana, of Columbia, two brothers in law, Dyle (and Debbie) of Canon City, Colorado, Terrill (and Tanya) of Buffalo, Wyoming, and a sister in law, Rinda (and Dan) Gibson of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Sam was preceded in death by his grandparents, Noel and Florence Jones and Harry and Lucille Noland, aunts, Helen McClanahan, a cousin, Stanley McClanahan, and his wife’s parents, Stillman and Louise Knifong.

Visitation will be held at Grace Bible Church, 601 Blue Ridge Road, on February 7 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.  A  Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, February 8, at the same location.
