COLUMBIA — Former Missouri football player and current Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin returned to Columbia on Tuesday.

Maclin, through his foundation that bears his name, will host a two-day charity event the weekend of April 5. The event, billed as the Mizzou Football Legends Weekend of Giving, will include an autograph signing, a free youth football camp and will culminate in the Jeremy Maclin Mizzou Legends Charity Softball Game held at Taylor Stadium.

The softball game, which will begin with a home run derby, will match former Missouri offensive football players against former defensive football players. The foundation hopes to include other notable MU alumni such as actors and broadcasters in the weekend’s activities.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Jeremy Maclin Foundation, three Columbia nonprofit businesses and the Aaron O’Neal endowment.

Maclin will be on campus until Thursday to promote the event and begin planning.
