COLUMBIA— From the Associated Press basketball poll

This week: Unranked Last week: No. 21

Missouri (17-6, 6-4 in Southeastern Conference) lost on the road once again this week 70-68 against Texas A&M on Thursday, but bounced back Saturday at home with a convincing 98-79 win over Ole Miss. The Tigers struggled with ball control against the Aggies with 16 turnovers. Phil Pressey led the team with seven, his last one costing Missouri the game in the finals seconds. The Tigers responded well to the loss though, getting revenge against the Rebels who beat Missouri 64-49 last month. Three players scored at least 20 points for the Tigers (Alex Oriakhi had 22, Pressey 22 and Keion Bell 21), and Pressey broke Anthony Peeler's all-time Missouri assists record (497).

This is the first time Missouri has been unranked in the AP poll since the final poll of the 2010-2011 season. Despite getting dropped out of the rankings, there are still two teams ranked in the SEC, with Florida at No. 7 and Kentucky at No. 25. Indiana remains No. 1 despite losing on the road to Illinois this week, while Kansas dropped from No. 5 to No. 14 after losing to unranked TCU and Oklahoma. Duke (No. 2), Miami (Fla.) (No. 3), Michigan (No. 4), and Gonzaga (No. 5) round out the top five.

The week ahead: This week, Missouri has two opportunities to get its first road win in the SEC, facing Mississippi State (7-15, 2-8 in SEC) on Wednesday, and Arkansas (14-9, 5-5 in SEC) on Saturday. The Bulldogs are led by freshman guards Fred Thomas (10.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game) and Craig Sword (9.8 points). The Razorbacks, led by former Missouri head coach Mike Anderson, feature sophomore guard BJ Young (16.1 points) and junior forward Marshawn Powell (14.7 points, 5.4 rebounds).

Highest Ranking: No. 7, on Dec. 24  Lowest Ranking: Unranked, on Feb. 11
