Columbia College women's basketball pushes past Hannibal LaGrange

Columbia College won 73-65 Tuesday evening against Hannibal-LaGrange.
COLUMBIA — The Columbia College women's basketball team defeated Hannibal LaGrange 73-65 on Tuesday night at the Arena of Southwell Complex.
With the win, the Cougars, ranked No. 15 in the NAIA coaches poll, are 21-5 overall and 13-0 in America Midwest Conference play.
The Cougars rallied from an early 24-12 deficit to take a 31-29 lead at halftime.
Heather English led the Cougars in scoring with 19 points despite cutting her cheek with 15:57 left in the second half. English was taken to the trainer's room where her cut was treated. She later returned to the game.
Lily Abreu also had 11 points for Columbia College.
The loss drops Hannibal LaGrange to 13-12 overall and 6-7 in AMC play.
