COLUMBIA – For the second week in a row, the Missouri softball team was ranked No. 8 in the USA Today/NFCA poll and No. 7 in the Softball poll.

While the Tigers have yet to begin their season, other schools have played up to seven games in the past week, including Florida, whose 5-0 record has moved it from No. 14 to No. 5 in the USA Today poll.

Other Southeastern Conference schools in the Top 10 of the USA Today poll are Alabama (No. 1, 5-0), Tennessee (No. 4, 5-0), and LSU (No. 10, 4-1).

In the poll, Alabama has moved down to No. 2, with Oklahoma (5-0) taking the top spot. The SEC schools in the Top 10 also include Tennessee (No. 4), Florida (No. 5) and Texas A&M (No. 10, 4-0).

Missouri begins its 2013 season with two tournaments in California. The Tigers' first game is set for at 10:30 a.m. Friday at UC Santa Barbara followed by a game against Fresno State at 12:30 p.m.
