Tolton Catholic boys basketball kept it close through the first quarter, but ultimately fell short on Tuesday night, dropping a road game to Helias Catholic High School, 63-30.
The Trailblazers (11-12) stayed in the game early, trailing the home team by just four points after the first quarter. From there on, however, it was all Helias Catholic. Senior guard Dylan Gish, who had been sidelined by injuries for a year-and-a-half, netted five three-pointers en route to a game-high 20 points.
The Crusaders led at halftime, 31-16, and locked down on defense after the break, holding Tolton scoreless in the fourth quarter. Brennan Church led Tolton with 14 points in the defeat.
The Trailblazers will return to action at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday when they visit Saint Paul Lutheran High School (18-4) in Concordia, Mo.
