The Columbia College men's basketball team rolled to a comfortable home victory over Hannibal-LaGrange University on Tuesday evening, 68-50. The Cougars extended their reign atop the American Midwest Conference (AMC) just hours after they received all 11 first place votes to lead the NAIA polls for a fifth consecutive week.
The Trojans kept the game close during the opening half and trailed by just ten at the break, 35-25. But the Cougars (26-0, 12-0 AMC) started the second half hot and went on an extended 15-2 run to put the game out of reach.
Columbia College junior guard Derrick Dilworth scored a game-high 15 points, while Devin Griffin chipped in with 13.
Columbia College will play league foe Missouri Baptist University at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in St. Louis.
