Edna Williams cooked in Columbia for more than 30 years

COLUMBIA — Edna Williams of Columbia died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013. She was 72.

Ms. Williams was born near Fulton on June 5, 1940, to Mabel Williams.

She worked at various sororities and fraternities in Columbia as a cook for more than 30 years before she became ill. She was also a cook for Woodhaven.

She is survived by her only son, James Williams and his wife, Sylvia, of Atlanta; one grandson, Jimmy Rolley of Des Moines; one sister, Ann Williams of Columbia; one brother, Joe Williams of Columbia; five great-grandchildren; 10 nieces and nephews many great-nieces and great-nephews; and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mabel Williams; her brothers, Eugene, Buster and Russell Williams; and two nephews.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Eternal Refuge Missionary Baptist Church at 19 E. Walnut St.
