Missouri wrestling assistant coach Nick Marable wins gold medal in Bulgaria

Former Missouri wrestler Nick Marable won a gold medal in the 163-pound division at the Dan Kolov International Tournament in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. 

Marable won four matches for the U.S. men's freestyle wrestling team. He defeated Macedonia's Goran Atanasov, Bulgaria's Miroslav Kirov and Mongolia's Unurbat Purevjav leading up to the final match. Marable then secured gold with a victory over Turkey's Batuhan Demiricin. 

Marable wrestled at Missouri from 2006 to 2010 and has the eighth-most wins in school history with 116 and the third-best career winning percentage at .823. He was named the program's Most Outstanding Wrestler in 2008 when he finished third at the NCAA Championships. 

He coaches at Missouri as an assistant strength and conditioning coach.
