Columbia College basketball doubleheader rescheduled due to weather

Tuesday, February 19, 2013 | 8:43 p.m. CST

The Columbia College and Harris-Stowe State University athletic departments have agreed to move their basketball doubleheader from Thursday evening to Wednesday due to concerns about inclement weather moving into the area Thursday morning.

The games will begin at their originally scheduled times with the No. 15 Columbia College women's team hosting Harris-Stowe State at 5:30 p.m. and the undefeated, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics top-ranked men's squad set to tip off against the Hornets at 7:30 p.m. The doubleheader will be both Columbia College teams' final regular-season home games at the Arena of Southwell Complex.

Before the women's game, women's basketball seniors Lily Abreu, Julie Teeple and Kaitlin Allphin will be honored as a part of Senior Night festivities. Seniors on the men's team will be recognized before their American Midwest Conference quarterfinal matchup Feb. 28.
