Columbia College men's basketball remains on top of NAIA rankings
Tuesday, February 19, 2013 | 11:33 p.m. CST
The undefeated Columbia College men's basketball team extended their stay atop the NAIA polls Tuesday, receiving all 11 first-place votes. The team has been ranked No. 1 for six straight weeks.
With the season winding down, the Cougars (28-0, 14-0 American Midwest Conference) won all three of their games last week and are now just two games away from becoming the first NAIA team since Georgetown (Ky.) College went 31-0 in 2007-08 to go an entire season without a loss. Wins over Hannibal-LaGrange University, Missouri Baptist University, and Lyon College last week helped the Cougars inch closer to recording their first ever undefeated season.
Columbia College will return to action tomorrow night when they play host to Harris-Stowe University at the Arena of Southwell Complex for a 7:30 p.m. conference matchup.
