No. 7 Missouri defeated No. 5 Florida 4-3 in 12 innings on Friday in the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Palm Springs, Calif.

Nicole Hudson hit the game-winning base hit with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the 12th. Mackenzie Sykes scored the winning run.

Tigers pitcher Chelsea Thomas pitched all 12 innings and struck out a personal best of 19 batters. The three runs Thomas allowed were unearned.

The Tigers scored two runs in the third inning on Sarah Moore's lead-off home run and Hudson's RBI double. The Gators answered with a single by Ensley Gammel in the bottom of the fourth that scored two runs.

The next run came in the 11th when Florida scored on an error. Missouri extended the game with a sacrifice fly by Emily Crane in the bottom half of the inning. Thomas recorded strikeout Nos. 18 and 19 in the top of the 12th, which helped set up Hudson as the hero.

The Tigers improved to 8-0 on the season. They play a doubleheader against Cal State Fullerton on Saturday in Fullerton, Calif.
