THE WEEK IN PHOTOS: Snowy storm overtakes Columbia, Missouri basketball

COLUMBIA — The best images from Missourian photographers in the past week included the winter storm that buried Columbia under 11 inches of snow and the Missouri men's and women's basketball games.

In this photo by Greg Kendall-Ball, Jill Elsbury, an MU law student from Centralia, walks in the snow along Ninth Street on Thursday afternoon. A snowstorm rolled through Missouri on Thursday, shutting down businesses, major roadways and schools.

The work was stopped Friday night, and the overpass was removed on Saturday. The bridge was removed to make way for a new crosswalk with traffic lights and a median.
