Storm forces flights cancellations to and from Kansas City airport

KANSAS CITY — Blizzard conditions creeping up on the Kansas City area have prompted the cancellation of numerous flights in and out of the city's major airport.
Passengers were urged to check with their airlines before heading to Kansas City International Airport. Officials said most Monday night arrival flights to the airport had been canceled, as have many early Tuesday morning departures.
It wasn't clear whether KCI would experience a full shutdown as it did just five days ago, when a major snowstorm hit the region. But conditions were only getting worse across the territory Monday night, with the Kansas City area expected to get up to a foot or more of snow before the storm system exits sometime on Tuesday.
