Born August 10, 1931 in Fayette, Missouri.

Jim was a graduate of Central Methodist College and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served in Germany during the Korean War in the 18th Engineers Battalion. During his service he disarmed and disposed of live ordinances remaining in Europe from WWII. He retired from Sears after 20 years. Jim loved animals and all things out doors including camping, swimming, and bicycling. He loved cooking and doing things for others and could always be counted on to have a positive outlook on life. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father, and friend. He will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his wife Kay Rich, daughter Cindy (Rod) Stalter of Ohio, son Jim (Teresa Okada) Rich of Utah, step daughter Kim (Tom) Henley of Texas, step sons Tim (Melanie) Zoellick of St. Peters, MO and Kieth Zoellick of Florida, one granddaughter, Niki DeAndero, 9 step grandchildren, 3 step great-grandchildren, and his feline friend Toby.
