Missouri gymnastics team takes second at Arkansas meet

The Missouri gymnastics team earned second place with a score of 194.300 at the Arkansas quad meet Friday in Fayetteville, Ark. Arkansas took first with 196.525, and Lindenwood University and Centenary College of Louisiana finished with 191.125 and 190.525, respectively.

Several Tigers set new career high scores at the meet, including sophomore Laura Kappler with a 9.775 on the uneven bars, freshman Rachel Henderson with a 9.750 on the balance beam and freshman Miranda Eubank with a 9.750 on the floor. Senior Sandra Ostad also earned a season best on the vault, scoring 9.800.

Sophomore Rachel Updike led the Tigers with a 9.825 on the balance beam, earning third place in the event. Updike also led Missouri on the vault with a 9.875 to place second.

The Tigers host Illinois next Friday at Hearnes Center.
