Can you help the Missourian share the great stories that come about when kids play sports?
When children of a certain age engage in athletics, the achievements on the field are not always the best part of the game.
How about the growth and the camaraderie?
How about the muddy uniforms and the injuries?
How about the dedication of the coaches?
We want to share stories from sports parents and coaches.
How do you teach kids to win well and lose well? How do you teach young athletes to excel and to be kind to those who don't excel? And how do you pack a postgame snack that's sure to please?
Help us tell those stories — with photos, with a quick anecdote or with a piece of advice — so we can share them with our readers. We will publish most submissions in the Missourian’s From Readers section, and some might end up in the print edition as well.
Email them to submissions@ColumbiaMissourian.com, or mail them to 221 S. Eighth St., PO Box 917, Columbia, MO 65201.
Questions? Ideas for who we should invite to contribute? Contact Joy Mayer, the Missourian's director of community outreach, at mayerj@missouri.edu or 882-8182. Thanks for considering the invitation, and we look forward to working with you.
