Adela Walter, Dec. 3, 1928 — March 10, 2013, of Columbia

COLUMBIA — Adela Walter, 84, of Columbia, MO, passed away March 10, 2013.

She was born on Dec. 3, 1928, in Tampa, FL, to Oscar and Mary (Ynes') Flipe'.

She married Vaughn Walter in Conway, AR, and he preceded her in death. Adela was an active member of Alive In Christ Lutheran Church for a decade. She worked at the Grindstone Wal-Mart for the last five years as a greeter.

Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Alive In Christ Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held at 11 a.m., until the time of service.

Adela is survived by her children: Tanya Welch (Andy) of Holts Summit, MO and Raymond McKissick (Liza) of Irwin, PA; sister: Juanita LaMont of Brooksville, FL; grandchildren: Samantha Eversoll (Jered) of Rock Springs, WY, John Hoelzeman of Columbia, MO, Natasha McKissick of Irwin, PA, and Kevin McKissick of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; great-grandchildren: Conner and Addison Eversoll, both of Rock Springs, WY; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Diana McCall, and her parents.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
