Adela Walter was an active member at her church

COLUMBIA — Adela Walter of Columbia died Sunday, March 10, 2013. She was 84.

Mrs. Walter was born Dec. 3, 1928, in Tampa, Fl., to Oscar and Mary (Ynes´) Flipe´.

She married Vaughn Walter in Conway, Ark.

Mrs. Walter, who worked at the Walmart on Grindstone Parkway as a greeter for the past five years, was a decade-long active member of Alive In Christ Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her children, Tanya Welch, and her husband, Andy, of Holts Summit, and Raymond McKissick, and his wife, Liza, of Irwin, Pa.; a sister, Juanita LaMont of Brooksville, Fla.; four grandchildren, Samantha Eversoll, and her husband, Jered, of Rock Springs, Wyo., John Hoelzeman of Columbia, Natasha McKissick of Irwin, Pa., and Kevin McKissick of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., two great-grandchildren, Conner and Addison Eversoll of Rock Springs, Wyo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at 11a.m. Thursday at Alive in Christ Lutheran Church, 201 Southampton Drive,  Columbia, MO 65203. Services will follow at noon at the church.
