Columbia police investigate early morning shots fired at Gateway apartments

COLUMBIA — Several shots were fired at Gateway at Columbia Student Apartments early Saturday morning, according to the Columbia Police Department.

At 2 a.m., officers responded to several reports of shots fired and of a large party/disturbance at the 3900 block of Buttonwood Drive, according to a news release. The reports referenced three to eight shots fired, but officers found four shell casings in the parking lot.

There are no victims or suspect information, or reports of property damage, according to the release.
