Missouri (23-10, 11-7 in Southeastern Conference) won 62-50 against Texas A&M in its first game in the second round of the Southeastern Conference tournament Thursday in Nashville, Tenn., but lost 64-62 a day later to Ole Miss.
Alex Oriakhi played well in both games, with 13 points and 10 rebounds against the Aggies and 16 points and nine rebounds against the Rebels.
Ole Miss went on to win the tournament, beating Florida in the final and clinching a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
Florida (No. 14) finishes as the only team ranked in the SEC in the final AP Poll. Saint Louis University finished at No. 13.
Gonzaga (No. 1), Louisville (No. 2), Kansas (No. 3), Indiana (No. 4) and Miami (FL) (No. 5) round out the final top five. Ole Miss received 13 votes.
This week ahead: The Tigers received the No. 9 seed in the NCAA Tournament and will face No. 8 seed Colorado State (25-8 overall) in the second round of the Midwest Region in Lexington, Ky., at 8:20 p.m. CT Thursday.
The Rams feature senior forward Colton Iverson, who leads the team in scoring (14.7 per game) and rebounding (9.8 per game). Colorado State finished with 10 votes in the final AP Poll.
If Missouri gets past Colorado State, its next likely opponent will be No. 1 seed Louisville, who plays the winner of the first round play-in game between North Carolina A&T and Liberty.
