Columbia College's Heather English named NAIA Women's Basketball All-American

Heather English of Columbia College was named a second team NAIA Division I women's All-American on Wednesday.

English was a third team All-American in 2011-12. She was also the American Midwest Conference Player of the Year for the second straight year this season. 

English led the Cougars in scoring this season, averaging 15.4 points per game. She also led the AMC with 96 steals this season.

Lily Abreu was given an honorable mention. Abreu averaged 15.1 points per game. Abreu transferred to Columbia College for her senior season from Arkansas Tech University. She scored a season-high 34 points on Feb. 14 in a game against Missouri Baptist University. 

Columbia College went 27-7 in 2012-13. The team made its fifth straight trip to the NAIA Womens' National Basketball Tournament, where it lost a first-round game to Shawnee State University 62-56 on March 13.
