LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Karl Skala is valuable resource on city's growth issues

Wednesday, March 27, 2013 | 7:01 p.m. CDT

COLUMBIA — Karl Skala advocates sustainable growth. This means maintaining and caring for what we already have — including neighborhoods, streets, police, fire protection, schools, the natural environment — while we grow. This can be achieved by making sure new development pays its fair share of increased costs. Every development proposal should be presented with the costs and benefits to the community clearly stated.

This is just one example of many complex issues that Karl has spent years mastering.  He is a wonderful resource for Columbia and the Third Ward and should be elected again on April 2.

Dee Dokken is a Columbia resident.
