Janice Nichols was a school nurse in Harrisburg for about 15 years

RIGGS — Janice Nichols, a longtime registered nurse at Harrisburg schools, has died.

Mrs. Nichols was born Nov. 25, 1926, to Christopher and Goldie (Sasse) Noll of Armstrong.

She married to Conard Price Nichols on Aug. 17, 1947.

She graduated from Armstrong High School in 1944. She then attended nursing school at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City from 1945 to 1948 and earned a registered nursing degree.

She was the school nurse in Harrisburg from 1966 to 1981.

She was a member of Riggs Methodist Church.

She is survived by three children, Thomas Odon Nichols and his wife, Mary, Terry Lee Nichols and his wife, Lori, and Nancy Ann (Nichols) Rapp and her husband, Jon; two sisters, Doris Markland and her husband, Tom, and Marjorie Vroman; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, a son, Conrad Price Nichols Jr., a brother, Kenneth Noll, and a sister, Betty Pruett died earlier.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W., Columbia.  Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Riggs Methodist Church, N. Old Number 7 William Road.
