COLUMBIA — I am writing to express my strong support for Ian Thomas’ candidacy for the Fourth Ward council seat in Columbia.  I have worked closely with Ian over the past 11 years as a project officer with two initiatives funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

I have watched as he has led several initiatives to create healthier community environments for families and children. Across a wide array of projects and community settings, Ian has worked tirelessly to build relationships, bring people together, grapple with data, seek consensus and craft innovative and cost-efficient solutions to important problems that affect the everyday lives of his fellow citizens.

He is a passionate, honest, fair-minded and respected leader who has brought significant investment to the Columbia community and partnered effectively with local government to help it work better for everyone. Ian has earned a national reputation as a leader in the fields of active transportation and public health. And he has earned your vote.

Rich Bell is a Columbia resident.
