COLUMBIA — The MU Table Tennis Club will participate in this year's College Table Tennis National Championships held April 12 to April 14.

This is the team's first time to go to the national tournament, according to an email from team captain Alan Chu.

The College Table Tennis National Championships is an event for college table tennis players throughout North America, hosted by the Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and the National Collegiate Table Tennis Association.

Taking place in Rockford, Ill., this year's competition will open for participant registration on Thursday, April 11. Players can participate as singles, doubles and teams.

Before leaving for the big game, Chu said he hopes the club will hold an event to promote the sport and raise travel funds.

Supervising editor is Emilie Stigliani.
