COLUMBIA ELECTION: McDavid, Skala, Thomas prevail

Columbia residents and candidates gathered Tuesday evening in downtown locations to watch the election results unfold. Mayor Bob McDavid was re-elected, Karl Skala won the Third Ward council seat and Ian Thomas won in the Fourth Ward.
COLUMBIA — Mayor Bob McDavid was re-elected to a second term Tuesday, but challengers Karl Skala and Ian Thomas defeated incumbents to win seats on the City Council.
Voters also approved a sales tax in Boone County and a charter amendment restricting the use of eminent domain in Columbia.
