The Columbia College softball team lost both games in a doubleheader against Lindenwood University on Wednesday . With the losses, the Cougars dropped to 7-12 in the season.

Lindenwood won the first game 8-4. The Lions scored three runs in the first inning to open up a lead. Marli Hayes and Whitni Howell both hit home runs for the Cougars to even the game before Lindenwood put together another three-run inning and pulled away for the win.

In the second game, Lindenwood got on board early with two runs in the first inning. But Lindenwood's pitching was too much for Columbia College, as the Lions won 3-1.

The Cougars will travel to league newcomer Lyon College on for a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday in Batesville, Ark.
