Glendy Ray Hockman, of Columbia, died April 4, 2013

Glendy Ray Hockman, 72, of Columbia, Missouri passed away Thursday April 4, 2013 at home.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday April 6, 2013 at Memorial Funeral Home with visitation from 12:00-2:00 prior to the service. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in memory of Glendy are suggested to Rescue Innocence, C/O Boone County Nat’l Bank. 

Glendy was born in Battletown, Kentucky to Oakley and Ada (Pipes) Hockman. Glendy married Eva Troutman on January 18, 1963. Glendy was in the Air Force from 1961-1965. He owned and operated Hockman Hardware in Oak Grove, Missouri for 32 years before retiring. He was a former member of the Oak Grove City Council, former member of the Oak Grove Chamber of Commerce where he was president for 2 years. He was also Businessman of the year in Oak Grove and was an Alderman for two years in the early 1980’s.

Glendy was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Vina Chism, and brother-in-law, Russell Chism. Glendy is survived by his wife, Eva, two sons and their wives, Daniel and Becky Hockman, Spring Hill, KS, David and Sherry Hockman, Columbia, MO; Brothers and their wives, Hayward and Pat Hockman, Ron and Roberta Hockman, and Steve and Lou Hockman all of Kentucky; four grandchildren, Megan Hockman, Spencer Hockman, Alex Hockman, and Paige Hockman.
