The Columbia College softball team kept its perfect American Midwest Conference record intact Saturday as it swept Lyon (Ark.) in a doubleheader in Batesville, Ark.

The Cougars (9-12, 4-0) jumped out to a quick start in game one, scoring two runs in the first inning. After three multi-run innings, shortstop Kristin Eiken hit a two-run home run, her first of the season. Starting pitcher Taylor Richter pitched five scoreless innings as the Cougars won 12-0.

Two first-inning runs in Game 2 got the Cougars off to another fast start. Starting pitcher Amber Boehme also pitched five shutout innings before being relieved by Tiffany Urwiler. Columbia College won 7-2.

The Cougars will host conference opponent Hannibal-LaGrange University at 2 p.m. Monday.
