Susan Kauffman, 67, was a member of Columbia community theater

COLUMBIA — Susan Kauffman died Saturday, April 6, 2013, after living four years with cancer. She was 67.

She spent 28 years working at MU. She retired in 2012 from her position as the executive staff assistant to the vice chancellor for Health Sciences. 

As a participant in Columbia community theater, she appeared in more than 25 productions with the Columbia Entertainment Company and the Maplewood Barn Theatre. 

She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Kauffman of New York City; her mother, Betty Alberty of Indianapolis; and her brother, Joe Alberty, his wife Erica and son Michael, all of Fort Wayne, Ind. Her husband and her father died earlier. 

There will be no services or internment. She arranged to donate her body to the Department of Pathology and Anatomical Sciences at the MU School of Medicine.
