ST. LOUIS — U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill says Missouri businesses need to maximize their online opportunities.

The Democrat was in St. Louis Friday, teaming with Google for a small business workshop at Third Degree Glass Factory. More than 100 small businesses from around the St. Louis region participated.

Google's director of small business engagement, Scott Levitan, says too many small businesses fail to get online because they fear it is complex, costly and time-consuming. The workshop sought to help businesses connect with customers through methods like search engine optimization and Web analytics.
