Forest Lester Daly worked as heavy equipment operator, enjoyed fishing, baseball

COLUMBIA — Forest Lester Daly of Columbia died Saturday, April 13, 2013. He was 81. 

Mr. Daly was born Nov. 16, 1931, in Boone County to Clarence B. and Mary Marie (Morgan) Daly. 

He worked as a heavy equipment operator and loved fishing and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Mr. Daly is survived by his son, David Daly and his wife, Sharon, of Columbia; a sister Betty Watson and her husband, C.A., of Columbia; a brother, Jimmy Daly and his wife, Peggy, of Columbia; eight grandchildren, Darren Daly and his wife, Laura, of Arkansas, Jeremy Daly, Angel Pierce, Amber Pierce, Alex Sapp, Amanda Casares, Stephanie Daly and Bubba Daly; and several great-grandchildren.

His wife, Ruth; three daughters, Diane Daly, Denise Daly and Dorrie Pierce died earlier. 

A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 E. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
