Missouri track and field members set personal records at Ole Miss Invitational

The Missouri track and field team battled intense heat last weekend at the Ole Miss Invitational in Oxford, Miss., to record several personal record performances and first-place finishes.

In the heptathlon, sophomore Katrine Haarklau scored 5,374 points to finish first. The win moved Haarklau up to No. 12 nationally. Sophomore Jill Rushin also earned first place in the discus throw with a personal record throw of 49.32 meters.

Sophomore Jonathan Ilori won the triple jump with a mark of 15.32 meters, while junior Kyle Wessel finished first in the pole vault with a personal record of 5.10 meters.

Less than a month remains before Missouri competes in the Southeastern Conference  Championships. The competition begins May 9 in Columbia.
