Hickman boys and girls track teams place 3rd and 5th at Kirkwood Invitational

The Hickman girls track and field team placed third out of 12 teams at the Dale Collier Invitational on Saturday in Kirkwood. The boys team placed fifth out of 14 teams.

On the girls side, the Kewpies did not have a single champion.

Mikayla Logan placed second in the girls’ long jump, with a jump of 17 and a half feet. Melissa Lowary also placed second in the pole vault with a vault of 9 feet, 3 inches. Eilish Matthews placed fourth in the same event.

Kendra Nobles placed second in the shot put, with a throw of 32 feet. Her teammate J’Sheree Peal placed third with a throw of 30 feet, 5 and a quarter inches.

In the track events, Kiona Huges finished third in the 100-meter dash. Logan, Marissa Johnsen, Jerica Mahaney and Hannah Corbin finished third in the 4x400-meter relay.

In the 4x100-meter relay, Kiona Hughes, Alyssa Hawkins, Najla Guice and Deoshinae Bagby finished fourth.

Donald Blackmon was the Kewpies' lone champion on the day. He won the shot put with a throw of 50 feet, 9 inches.

Urius Chambers placed second in the long jump with a jump of 21 feet, 2 and a half inches. Christian Geen finished third in the discus with a throw of 130 feet, 7 inches.

Ethan Zars, Travis Line, Ryan Boger and Dillon McCann finished fourth in the 4x800 meter relay. Ben Brooks, Eric Wise, Devan Larry and Vince Spears also finished fourth in the 4x100-meter relay.
