Missouri golf team in ninth place after two days at SEC Tournament

The Missouri golf team is in ninth place after competing again Saturday at the Southeastern Conference Men's Golf Championships on St. Simons Island, Ga.

The event is being played at the Seaside course at the Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons.

The Tigers were also in ninth heading into Saturday. 

Emillio Cuartero had the best round for the Tigers on Saturday. Cuartero shot an even par 70 and moved into 19th place. Cuartero was three-over-par on the front nine, but he shot a three-under-par 32 on the back nine.

Hunter Kraus shot a 1-over round of 71 on Friday. However, he played Saturday at four-over-par. He is tied for 25th heading into Sunday’s final round.

Jace Long shot 73 after shooting 74 on Friday. Long is tied for 36th place. Long was three-over-par through the first six holes, but shot even par over the last 12 holes.

Jacob Fair and Ryan Zech are tied for 39th. Fair shot his second straight 74. Zech shot a 73 Saturday.

South Carolina is five-under-par overall, and leads the team competition by three shots over Alabama.
