Missouri received a verbal commitment from point guard Shane Rector Saturday night, according to

Rector, a three-star recruit from Kent, Conn., is 6-feet tall and 170 pounds.

With former Missouri point guard Phil Pressey going to the NBA draft and guard Negus Webster-Chan transferring to Hawaii, Rector's presence will give Missouri another ball handler in addition to recruit Wes Clark and newly-eligible junior guard Jordan Clarkson.

Rector originally committed to Rutgers, but after Rutgers coach Mike Rice was fired for physically and verbally abusing his players, Rector withdrew his commitment to Rutgers.
