Mary Mildred Dothage, 88, died Monday

COLUMBIA — Mary Mildred Dothage of Columbia died April 22, 2013. She was 88. 

She was born on Aug. 15, 1924, in Joseph, Utah, to Hakan and Mildred Ross. She was married to her husband, Waldo Dothage, for more than 60 years. He died in 2007.

They met in San Francisco during World War II, while Waldo Dothage was in the Navy and Mrs. Dothage was helping with the wartime effort by making parachutes. After the war, they moved to Missouri. Columbia was their home for many years.

Mrs. Dothage is survived by her son, Jack Dothage and wife Sharon; her daughters, Denise Dothage, and Karen Chandler and husband Rick of Columbia; four grandchildren, Sam Dothage and wife Laura of Fenton, Stacey Cornelison of Columbia, Julie Jacobs and husband David of O'Fallon and Blake Ramey (Chandler) of Columbia; nine great-grandchildren and her sister Joyce Welbern of Rocheport. 

Her son David, her brothers Steiner and Jack Ross, sister Ruth Mansor, and her parents died earlier. 

Visitation will be held Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W., Columbia, Mo., 65202 Mrs. Dothage will be buried in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville.
