Shots fired on 500 block of Oak Street on Monday

COLUMBIA — Police continue an investigation regarding shots fired in the 500 block of Oak Street on Monday.

Police were dispatched just before 1:30 p.m. in reference to a report that shots had been fired in the area, according to a Columbia Police Department news release.

One unoccupied building was struck, and three shell casings were found in the road, according to the release. No injuries have been reported.

The investigation has revealed that shots might have been fired from a red vehicle last seen heading northbound on Oak Street, according to the release.

Anyone with information about these incidents should contact the Columbia Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 875-8477.
