Women's Basketball Hall of Fame to honor Columbia College's Heather English

COLUMBIA — Columbia College women's basketball player Heather English will be honored at the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Tenn.

English, a junior guard for the Cougars, will have her jersey hung with more than 100 others in an exhibit called the Ring of Honor that recognizes standout players from the 2012–2013 season.

English was named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Year for the second straight season after averaging a team–high 15.4 points per game and leading the conference with 96 steals. The Cougars went 27-7 last season, won the AMC regular season and tournament championship and made their fifth consecutive appearance in the NAIA National Tournament.

English joins former Cougars player Janita Session as the only two Cougars to be honored in the Ring of Honor.
