Tolton High golfer Jack Golden shot a 93 on Monday in the Class 1 sectionals at Heritage Hills Golf Course to earn a spot in the state championship. It will be Golden's second trip to state in as many years.

Tolton did not advance out of sectionals as a team, but junior Connor McCarty shot a 74 in a practice round, nine strokes lower than the next best score in the entire field. McCarty is ineligible for the state championship because he transferred from Rock Bridge High School at the end of last year.

The cut to make state was 96. Marceline High and Louisiana High advanced to the championship from the sectional.
