COLUMBIA — For the fifth time this season, Missouri’s Chelsea Thomas has been named Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

A two-time All-American, Thomas pitched the 11th complete game no-hitter of her Missouri career during the Tigers’ 2-0 victory against No. 2 Tennessee on Saturday. Thomas struck out seven over seven innings while issuing three walks and one hit-by-pitch in the win, which improved her season record to 20-4 and was her SEC-leading 13th conference pitching win.

The honor is the 17th conference honor of Thomas’s career and puts her in the company of former Tennessee pitcher Monica Abbott as the only two pitchers in conference history to earn five weekly awards in a single season.

Missouri plays in the SEC Tournament on Thursday. The third-seeded Tigers face No. 6 Arkansas at 3 p.m. on ESPNU from John Cropp Stadium in Lexington, Ky.
