COLUMBIA — A man accused of distributing Adderall to teenagers near two public schools in Ashland was arrested Wednesday evening.
The Boone County Sheriff's Department arrested Matthew Martin Roberts, 24, of Ashland on two counts of distributing a controlled substance near a school, according to a news release from the sheriff's department.
The man sold the drug to a 13-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy in Ashland City Park, less than 2,000 feet from Southern Boone Middle and High Schools, according to the release.
Adderall is a drug used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. The Food and Drug Administration warns that it can lead to dependence and drug abuse.
Roberts was being held Thursday in the Boone County Jail on a bond of $100,000. He also has an outstanding warrant for failing to appear on a speeding charge.
